The retractable roof surface has 9.000sqm and the membrane is supported by a structure of steel cables, allowing fully automatic opening and closing of the roof. Possibility of natural light penetration allows for easier maintenance of lawn, among other advantages related to the convenience of participants in an event (be it sports game, concert, or another event).

Commerzbank Arena

Besides modern facilities adopted during the reconstruction, it was desired that the stadium have an inside mobile roof (above the playing surface). The opening and closing of the roof are fully automatic, at the push of a button. While the roof is open, the membrane gathers to the center inside a video-cube (31m² and 30t, on whose side surfaces are monitors).
